In 2018, Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has contributed 0.6% (Php 58,549,855) to the country’s gross domestic product. The economy of the region grew by 7.2% in 2018, and for the second consecutive year it has surpassed the country’s GDP growth rate. 

Among the three major sectors, the services sector has registered the highest growth rate (9.4%) followed by the Industry sector (7.5%) and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing sector (5.8%). 

Despite having the lowest growth rate among the three major sectors, ARMM’s AHFF growth rate is the highest among all regions in 2018. The Agriculture and Forestry sub sector grew by 5.3% while the Fishing sub sector expanded by 7.3%.

When it comes to the industry sector, the Construction sub sector expanded the most (16.4%). This is followed by the Manufacturing (9.4%), and Electricity, Gas and Water Supply (2.8%) sub sectors. The Mining and Quarrying sub sector, on the other hand, declined by 2.9%.

In terms of the services sector, the  Public Administration and Defense:  Compulsory Social Security sub sector has registered the highest growth (13.2%), followed by Transport, Storage and Communication (10.8%), Other Services (10.1%), Financial Intermediation (9.7%), Trade and Repair of Motor Vehicles, Motorcycles, Personal and Household Goods (4.3%), and Real Estate, Resting and Business Activities (2.0%).
